Teaching School Alliance
Introduction to the Swaledale Alliance
We are delighted to be a part of the 'Swaledale Alliance' - a group of over 60 local schools forming a Teaching Schools' Alliance. This involves substantial collaborative working in a variety of areas, including staff CPD, in house support, courses, shared resources and joint projects. We also offer Initial Teacher Training opportunities within the Alliance schools.
Our Roles in the Alliance
Our headteacher, Mr. Campbell, is currently chair of the alliance's Assessment Working Group, leading the Alliance's work on a new system of assessing pupil progress following the government's removal of National Curriculum Levels.
Mrs. Wiltshire, our Deputy Head, and Mrs. Nuttall, our Assistant Head work for the alliance as 'Specialist Leaders of Education' - going into other schools to offer them support and advice to help improve their practice.
Mr. Fenn also does some work for the Alliance as a P.E. Curriculum Support Teacher, again, working with other schools to help them develop their sporting provision.
