Curriculum Design

Please see below for information about the design, rationale and priorities of our RE curriculum.

Progression Framework

We have developed and sequenced our curriculum based on the North Yorkshire Agreed Syllabus. We have worked with SACRE advisors to adapt this to our context.

Further details about RE in EYFS can be found in the Understanding the World area of our EYFS curriculum plan

Rolling Programme

We organise the curriculum around a rolling programme - please see below.

Please note, Parents (or carers with parental responsibility) have the right to request that their child be wholly or partly withdrawn from Religious Education and/or Collective Worship in any state-funded school.  Schools remain responsible for supervising pupils during withdrawal periods, but they are not required to provide alternative teaching or incur extra costs.

This is in accordance with the Education Act 1996, Section 71 and School Standards and Framework Act 1998, Sections 69–71.

If you would like to discuss this further, please contact the office.
